I love to fish. Haven’t done it in entirely too long, but my husband and I have been talking about going soon. Neither of us have much equipment anymore, so I have been browsing to find some good deals to fill my tackle box with! I just came across these cool baby turtle lures for Bass Fishing, and can’t wait to try them out!
Now, I have to say, when it comes to live critters, I am firmly pro turtle. I used to have a pet snapping turtle named Grumpy. My brother found him just hatched, with a defective bottom shell. That eventually healed and I had him for several years after that. Until I broke my leg and he escaped from my mother’s house. Au Revoir, Grumpy! But, when it comes to fishing, I am not at all adverse to using a plastic turtle to lure in the big bass!
The makers leveraged the fact that bass attack baby turtles, as turtles in general eat fish eggs. So, if not for self defense, then in defense of the species, at least! I was looking at the reviews, and all that I saw were quite positive! Some great bass fishing stories have come from these lures, by the looks of things! Cannot wait for my husband and I to have our own!
I remember my grand daddy taking me fishing when I was a little girl, and I remember him using canned corn as bait. It worked, too, but I don’t remember what kind of fish we were going for. I just remember enjoying spending time with him.
Another memory I have of fishing is a rare Saturday morning when my dad (who worked nights) was up and we went fishing together at the big pond near our house. I remember in a very short time we had a whole string of fish, both bass and brim. The rule at our house was, if you catch it, you clean it, so I also remember being covered with fish scales–those things fly everywhere!!
If you like to camp and fish, I definitely recommend you keep a medical kit with you! Another memory I have is of water moccasins! This company right here has a pretty big selection that might come in handy!
