Expressions of Love

These are great if it is not time for the ring!

There are countless things you can and will give your special someone throughout your life. And one of the most important and special things will be your wedding ring or engagement ring! They are expressions of love that should have a lot of thought spent on them!

One example of the beautiful rings you can find!

I am definitely not of the camp that says you should spend six month’s salary, necessarily, on the engagement ring. In fact, I don’t actually even like diamonds. I really don’t. Emeralds, now, that is another subject! My husband gave me a cross on a chain that had belonged to his grand dad when he proposed. And that suits me just fine.

But it is still a very important symbol of your love and commitment to each other. I always thought it was interesting that the original reason for engagement rings was to protect the lady if she got jilted. So you didn’t give an engagement ring lightly, and once done, you weren’t getting it back.

If you should back out, the ring was hers. It was to help support her financially, because a woman who was jilted had much less chance of getting engaged again. Often, that was zero chance. Now, times have changed, for sure, but I wholeheartedly believe that engagement and marriage should be considered and reconsidered seriously before you make that decision.

However, once you have, it is time to shop! I have found a great resource for not only wedding and engagement rings, but other jewelry as well. Expressions of Love can also be for your Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend, don’t forget!

Gabriel & Co. pledges not to use blood diamonds. Also known as conflict diamonds. If you don’t know, these are diamonds that have been mined using forced labor, or child labor, or other unethical practices. Good for them!

So, when you get that special piece, you can rest assured it is not tainted. All of their pieces are hand made with top quality metals, diamonds, and other gems.

What I really love is that you can shop online, and when you see one you want to see ‘for real’, you just select the ‘view in store’ option and schedule the appointment. So you know the store is going to have the ring you want to look at when you get there! This could definitely save some time and frustration for the non shoppers among us!
