Gourmet Tea Or Two?

Gourmet Tea does not have to mean expensive Tea. The sad fact is, to get quality products, these days, you often have to look for the Gourmet Label to begin with. Tea is a basic drink that wars have been fought over. You would think it would be easy to find, and reasonably priced. That is often not the case!

For some people, it is an integral part of their culture. For those of us in the southern United States, it tends to be iced, as a defense against the heat! But no matter what flavor you like, or the temperature you like to drink it, you need and deserve to start with quality tea leaves!

Enter Adiago Teas. Gourmet Teas you won’t believe!

This was recently recommended to me by a co-worker, whom I definitely owe big time! So I am going to pay it forward and share with you! When you go on this site, you will be amazed at the variety. Cherry, Mango, Plain Tea, Seasonal flavors, Jasmine, and even the ability to have them make your own custom blends! How cool is that??

Depending on what you want, there are some types that are about ten cents a cup. A lot of the ones I saw were 24 cents a cup. Less than a quarter for quality tea blends that the supermarkets teas can’t even touch!! I go to the coffee and tea aisle sometimes, but I almost never actually buy any of the colorful boxes I stare at and read the labels of.

Between the cost, and the limited selection of flavors, I usually end up with the usual family size bags to make iced tea (unsweetened, at my house!) and maybe just flavor it up myself with some sliced strawberries or lemons. So-called Gourmet Teas at the grocery store just don’t compare!!

When you look at the ingredient lists on those boxes, it can be unsettling. Tea should just be tea, right? Well, if you look on this website at a particular flavor and there is no ingredient list, it is because it is JUST TEA. How refreshing! Any flavored teas are using all natural ingredients, so they are mostly Vegan friendly and all are Kosher, though not officially certified. If you are not sure why it matters, please take a few minutes to check this page out.

One of my favorite memories is getting to travel with my mom in England for the first time and really getting into tea!

We would stop in a little tea house in the afternoons and sit and enjoy a cup, while talking over what we had seen together. It is a nice way to take a break, and something I think we could all benefit from. We rush and rush and it never seems to end, these days! But to just have a few minutes set aside in the afternoon to sit and enjoy a cup, maybe with a little treat to go with it–so nice!!

I have a small collection of tea pots that almost never got used–until now!

I am loving the fact that this an American family owned business! The mother of this family made and brewed her own blends for family and company, and eventually her children helped her start an online gourmet tea business. I want to order EVERYTHING!!!

Sampler Packs come in wonderful little tins

The problem is, there are right now at least 125,966 Signature Blends!! The good news is, they have sampler packs, that come with six different blends to try. So, while I am thinking I can’t drink 125,966 blends in my lifetime, I am sure I can enjoy trying!

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention they have gifts. Tea related, of course! Tea pots and gift cards, starter kits, accessories, mugs, the sampler packs I already mentioned, and even tea cookies! Matcha bowls as well! There is a blue one that I am getting at first opportunity! Oh, the website has a spot for you to add your wish list, too!

And last summer, during prime peach season in the US, they had such a great sale on Peach Teas! Or maybe you are just craving a taste of summer during the cool winter days. Try it now.

I commend this company on their Green Initiatives as well! Per their website:

Starting this year Adagio Teas is teaming up with South Pole in an effort to do our part in reducing the carbon footprint of the packages we send out into the world. With our Carbon Offset program, a donation will automatically be made to South Pole with each purchase of Adagio Teas, at no additional cost to you. That contribution will then be used to help sponsor the offset of two pounds of carbon through one of South Pole’s initiatives.”

Ok, if you are a true tea connoisseur, put October 31, 2020 on your calendar. That is the next time this company will sell bella luna blue tea….because it is only available during blue moons, and that is the next time we will have a blue moon!! I have to wait a year?? The hundreds of reviews of this flavor of tea say it is absolutely amazing!
