Its Raining Deals With Victoria Rains!

I just love auctions! One of my dearest friends and I used to go on weekend nights in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It was more fun than going to a bar! Sometimes we got some really great deals. And we always got a chuckle out of  people who got “auction fever.” They would bid up way more than the item was worth! Government Auto Auctions are a different animal, though!

I do have friends that go to auto auctions. However, since I am not a mechanic, I used to shy away from these. The only horse power I am qualified to judge has four legs, not tires! But I have been tempted…

I confess, I had ethical concerns as well. Sometimes people are wrongfully convicted, which means possessions could be impounded wrongfully. However, that is not always the case. And if I can get decent cars for low cost and sell them inexpensively to families in need, then some good is done! So, I researched, and found GovernmentAuctions.org. 

I was surprised to find that it has not only auto auctions, but also foreclosures, and from banks, as well. Not just government seizures. The site also includes government surplus auctions. 

The site is very well organized and despite the name, it is actually not a government run site. It is privately owned. Therefore, I like it better already!

You pay a yearly membership for access to frequently updated lists of auctions. The databases include inventory going on the block, as well as dates and locations. You will have no problem searching by state and zip codes.

GovernmentAuctions.org has been featured in books and on news shows for the service they provide. They have auctions for Real estate, jewelry, boats, cars, stores and everything you could want to buy. Everything legal. If I need to specify that.

They don’t make crazy claims about getting something for nothing! I really like that. I certainly don’t want to give my hard earned cash to a group with no integrity!

You have access to Government and Police Auctions for Cars, Trucks and SUVs.

This site has become America’s most trusted source for Government seized and surplus car sales. I wish I had had this site when my husband was boat shopping!

You have the thrill of the hunt without having to dress out your kill! And how often can you make money while being entertained? The best auctioneers make a performance out of the whole sale!

Here is a great tip:

NEVER be the first to bid unless no one else is bidding and the Auctioneer is threatening to remove it from the sale! I mean it! If you bid first, you usually end up paying more than needed.

It excites competitive people to bid against you. And you also don’t want people to think there is a reason THEY should want it. (Though they should!) It is better they think you are an idiot for wanting ‘that ol’ thing,’ than to reveal excitement. Think poker face.

On smaller items, if the bidding is slow, sometimes the auctioneer will throw in other items to ‘sweeten the pot.’ This means you might end up with much more than you bargained for! That is a good thing!
